What it does

Chemical UVB filter — one of the oldest and most widely used.

Benefits

Effective UVB absorber. Lightweight, cosmetically elegant, plays well in many formulas.

Concerns & Risks

Banned in Hawaii, parts of Mexico, and Palau over coral-reef impact. Possible weak hormonal activity in animal studies (human relevance debated). Photo-degrades over a day; needs other filters alongside.
