Jojoba Oil

What it does

Technically a liquid wax rather than an oil, pressed from jojoba seeds; its make-up is close to the waxy esters in the skin's own sebum.

Benefits

Softens and conditions skin and slows water loss without feeling heavy; studies suggest anti-inflammatory and barrier-repair effects. Unusually stable, so slow to go rancid.

Allergy is rare, and it is generally well tolerated.
