CeraVe
Moisturising Cream for Dry to Very Dry Skin
Fragrance-free barrier cream pairing three ceramides with cholesterol and petrolatum — the benchmark for dry and sensitive skin, at a premium.
Is CeraVe Moisturising Cream good for dry skin?
Yes: for dry, sensitive or eczema-prone skin it is the benchmark, with three ceramides, cholesterol and phytosphingosine in a glycerin-and-petrolatum base and no fragrance or essential oils. It is rich, though, and oily skin will find it heavy in humid weather.

Our Take
This is the formula most barrier creams are copying: three skin-identical ceramides (NP, AP and EOP) alongside cholesterol and phytosphingosine, the lipids the skin's own barrier is built from, set in a glycerin-and-petrolatum base that both draws water in and slows its escape. It is fragrance-free and essential-oil-free, which matters more here than in most products, because the people who need it are the ones whose skin reacts to everything. We'd note the claims wobble — the same listing promises 24-hour hydration in the text and 48 hours on the images, and the 80% dryness-relief figure comes from a study on legs, not faces — but the ingredient list supports what the brand says the cream does. The trade-offs are texture and price: it is a genuinely rich cream that oily skin will find heavy in Indian humidity, and at an MRP of ₹469 for 50 ml (about ₹9.40 a ml) it costs more than twice as much per gram as Re'equil's ceramide cream. For dry, sensitive or eczema-prone skin, though, it remains the benchmark we'd measure the rest against.

What buyers report
Reviewers describe a thick, rich cream that hydrates well and calms dry, flaky patches, and those with sensitive or breakout-prone skin report no reaction, in line with its fragrance-free formula. The caveats are weight and price: several call it heavy and best for dry skin or winter, one saying it made them sweat, and some find it a little costly.
